Description
Making mince-meat out of your workload, the completely re-designed ThinkPad Ultra Dock comes with an included ThinkPad 90W AC Adapter and grows your capability without having grown in size. The ultimate 90w docking solution, the ThinkPad Ultra Dock includes a wide range of video outputs, including HDMI 1.4, and support for multiple external monitors, so you can multi-task like never before. It comes with 3x USB 2.0 ports, one which supports always-on USB charging for mobile devices. Therefore, you can charge your tablet or mobile using the dock without your ThinkPad being present. The dock is equipped with 3x USB 3.0 ports for connecting hard drives and other external storage. This ThinkPad docking station also support 10/1000 Gigabit Ethernet connection and comes with 2x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x DVI-D, 1x HDMI 1.4 and 1x VGA port. Some of the video ports do have exclusive use and are also dependent on the docked ThinkPad configuration. The dock comes with a 90W Ac adapter which powers both docking station and ThinkPad. The dock is driver-free but still delivers delivering crystal clear video quality thanks to Lenovo technology. It also features 1 x Stereo/Mic Combo Audio Port for headphone/speaker/microphone connection.

This thing is garbage with the P50. The displayports do not work properly, the audio port doesn't work, the USB ports don't keep up with your keyboard. Do not but this thing.

I honestly don't know what the problems are... maybe it's people's cables, connections or they don't know how to use it - but mine is awesome!! I have 2 digital monitors connected and it works like a charm.

On the Lenovo site, the ThinkPad Ultra Dock 90W is listed as capatible with the T450 laptop. After tech service replaced my docking station because the the USB ports did not work, the tech service folks came to realize that the unit is not compatible with the laptop. The USB ports again did not work on the replacement unit.

I too was apprehensive about using this dock as many of the reviews are quite negative. Fortunately, my experience has been very positive. I use this dock with a Lenovo T540p running Ubuntu 15.04. While at work, it spends most of its time on the dock but I do occasionally undock for meetings. All monitors and USB devices connect/disconnect without issue.
